Ha--my brother was roommates with Dan Pastorini (sp?) in HS; he was the QB that broke his leg and was replaced by Plunkette in Oak, I think...damn, can't recall the story. But, they were roomates...

was that at santa clara!?!

pastorini and the oilers were pretty good in 78 and 79 but just could never get over the top...though their fans might say that they never had the refs on their side...

kind of like the bert jones colt teams in the late 70's though if memory serves me correct jones was out most, if not all of 78 and 79...but he was a terror in 76 and 77...

so I forgot that the future drag racer pastorini played in the biggity-biggity-O; and that he was traded for stabler.

Yea, well my mom dated Roman Gabriel at NC State. Insert your own punchline here.

And my dad was friends with Sonny Jorgenson at Duke (yes, that football powerhouse).

And I own an Archie Manning autographed N.O. Saints' football - worth a bit more than it was.

I knew Chris Hanburger- 9 time pro bowler, of the Washington Redskins, from The UNC TarHoles from my days growing up in Maryland. He was out felling trees near the Patuxent River in Upper Marlboro (where Shawn Merriman went to school) when I was introduced to him by my Boy Scouts' Scoutmaster.

RFK was a great GD venue many times over the years, but never was Texas Stadium.

I'm drunk off my ass, so please excuse me.
